I do want to remind everyone who is interested that the AIA Dallas Tour of Homes tomorrow.  I believe tickets are still available.  I found out that I can’t take pics in the houses and it’s not encouraged on the outside too much.  I don’t want to cause a ruckus so I may or may not have some photographs to show you.  I will write about the experience and link all over the place to the press.

Now back to the idea of use of space.  One of my favorite sites is Apartment Therapy.  When this site grows up, it wants to be like Apartment Therapy.   Recently I ran across this article on Conversation Pits.  I love the idea of a cozy place in a home for relaxing, conversation and snuggling up and reading a book or watching a good movie.  In a way, these pics remind me of those recessed or tiered living rooms of the 70s where you would have a few steps down into a seating area.   In fact, they took these pictures from a book that was published in 1974.  Goes to show you there are no bad, old ideas – only good, recycled ideas.
